Like most folks that start in real estate, Mike cut his teeth on designing fix & flips.
30 years ago after selling the Austin SuperShuttle airport operation he co-founded in 1993, Mike bought his first investment property.
Back before they became the rage on cable TV, Mike was buying, renovating & selling homes in central Austin. He did dozens.
Then, Mike graduated to townhomes in the Houston Heights in the early 2000’s including the Yale Street Lofts before returning to Austin and becoming one of the pioneers of 3-story townhomes in South Austin.
At one point, Mike with his partner led all townhome unit development in the highly desirable 78704 area during the 2003-2007 time period including The Ivy on Kinney.
It was then Mike founded River City Studio, which became the lead designer for California based Standard Pacific’s entry into the Austin market before they merged with Ryland Homes.
River City Studio quickly grew and was approved to design and build in the prestigious Barton Creek neighborhood, completing multiple projects including 4401 Mirador Drive.
Mike also developed the gated enclave of Harbor Hill in North Lakeway, including the Santa Barbara classic 101 Harbor Hill Drive, built for Mike’s parents.
After moving to Waco with his family, he collaborated on multiple mixed use and several apartment projects including the Green Door Lofts.
Mike took a break from design & development to pursue his lifelong golf interests - eventually becoming the Director of technology at the San Antonio golf trail - before returning to real estate in Austin.
Mike pioneered again in resurrecting the classic midcentury style, appearing in a dozen magazines, websites, and multiple covers including The Atomic Ranch magazine Austin Project House.
Today, Mike works with private companies & clients, and back to his roots fix & flip investors on project design & conception and owner’s representation.
